Gabriel Macdonald is a composer and sound designer whose work blends cinematic emotion with atmospheric intensity, crafting scores that elevate both independent storytelling and commercial visual media. Known for a versatile compositional style, Gabriel combines orchestral depth, modern sound design, and immersive textures to create music that resonates long after the screen fades to black.

His growing body of work spans short films, feature productions, documentaries, branded campaigns, and commercial media, establishing him as an emerging voice in contemporary screen composition.

 

Beyond narrative film, Gabriel has teamed up with Nova Post Production in Vancouver, and has Co- Scored/Sound Designed  mini documentary and commercial productions connected to companies such as Destination Canada's FIFA 2026 Promo, Travel Alberta, and Zodiac Milpro. His work reflects a cinematic sensibility paired with a contemporary production aesthetic that adapts seamlessly across genres and formats.

 

Gabriel’s score for The Last Reckoning received international recognition in 2025, earning a win for Best Music Score at the Veneto Film Festival and a nomination for best original score at the World Film Festival in Cannes. These accolades underscore his growing reputation as a composer whose work balances technical precision with emotionally driven storytelling.
